My Story
Here’s why Fool’s Bridge exists.
I was raised a Christian and attended Christian schools. Our family went to church weekly, and we observed the Sabbath. I had a Bible and learned many of its stories growing up.
As I got older and went to college, I drifted from religion. I still believed in God, but I didn’t pray consistently, and I never read the Bible. This pattern lasted for thirty years. I still loved Jesus, but I had no real relationship with the Lord.
As an adult, I turned to self-help books, searching for positive inspiration. I explored different belief systems, like Buddhism, and read various religious books — just not the Bible. I started watching pastors on YouTube, including old sermons from Billy Graham, and eventually came across a pastor named Cliffe Knechtle. Cliffe has spent years on college campuses debating students about Christ. At the end of one video, he looked into the camera and made a simple plea: just read the Bible. Start with the Gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
So I downloaded a Bible on my tablet and started with Matthew. The stories and truths came flooding back to me. I was hooked. Now, I can’t start my day without reading a chapter. Each day brings new learning and new questions, and those questions lead me to search for answers, which brings even more insight.
That daily habit has changed more than my mornings. It’s shaped how I handle pressure, how I show up for my family, and how I see the years ahead. I’ve learned so much from Scripture about how to live my life, and I supplement my Bible reading with other books about Jesus, the Old Testament, and more.
I created this site so that others might come to know Christ — and discover how their lives can change too.
